More than the Xbox had

Voice and text chat
Talk or type in network games, with a streamer mode that hides offensive words.
Sharper picture
Any resolution, a high-resolution HUD and text, anti-aliasing and better lighting.
Bring your own game
OpenH1 includes none of the game's data. You need your own Xbox disc image of Halo: Combat Evolved, and any version works.
- Get OpenH1 for your system. Builds are coming soon. Until then, build it from the source on GitHub.
- Start the game and choose your disc image (
.isoor.xiso) when it asks. - The game copies out its maps once, then you're in.
Built on the community's work
OpenH1 is a fork of OpenCE, the community's port, and stays compatible with it online. Both start from the decompilation of bnunu/halo-1, a fork of punpckhdq/halo. Thank you to everyone who made them.
